having one of those days

I did a lot today. I went out, got some great acai, charged my car, went to my freshman honors orientations; but somehow I still feel like my day has been missing something.

like I feel that I haven't really gotten anything done this week. I don't feel motivated to start studying my textbooks yet (though classes start monday), so I don't know what else to do.
I've explored the town and driven all the way down to the beach this week so it feels like I've just run out of options. additionally, my attention span just feels like it's depleting more and more each day as I try and get through 1 episode of 'girls' on hbo. (I love the show I just can't focus for shit)

so what should I do? is there anything I can do? or is this just how it's going to be...

I'm being a bit over dramatic--my boyfriend moves up next to my apartment tomorrow I just am sooooo bored right now.

also, one more thing, all of these people at my honors orientation seem so driven, and I don't know WHAT to do with my life. I feel like I have so many options but too little time, and just this intense feeling that I will be missing out on so many good things if I just pick one pathway.

anyways, sorry for the rant!

ttyl.

  1. it sounds like you’re a freshie in college, and as someone who changed majors 2x and graduated in 2022, i suggest you make your first year all about exploring career pathways! fill your schedule with gen eds and join clubs/events that encourage looking at different majors.

  2. I heavily relate to the feeling of lacking drive! I just feel like everyone is so hungry to accomplish their goals and I'm just going through the motions. Trust you don't need to figure everything out now! My friend and I are on our third year of college and she's still undecided on what direction to go in. Just be open to new opportunities and I'm sure what you want do will find you in time. We can't rush our destiny, it will find us when we're ready!
